Roundup is a chemical herbicide weedkiller made by Monsanto, and has been used by businesses and individuals since launching on the market in the 1970’s. In the last 10 years alone, around 13 billion pounds of Roundup and other weedkillers featuring the same active ingredients have been applied to crops. The active ingredient used is glyphosate, a substance that several studies have shown could be connected to the occurrence of cancer in humans.
As a result, there are possible lawsuits being developed for those who have suffered a cancer diagnosis connected to the use of Roundup.

Is Roundup being recalled?
While Roundup (and glyphosate) has been linked to cancer occurrences, the issue of the chemical’s safety has been clouded. Reports commissioned by Monsanto- the manufacturer of the weed killer- claim that there is no danger to human life presented by glyphosate or Roundup. This is contested by reports from the International Agency for Cancer Research. However, while Roundup is not being recalled, it was announced on Aug 9, 2021, that the product would be reformulated and released without Glyphosate as an ingredient.
Is it safe to use Roundup?
The key ingredient in Roundup, until the recently announced change, was glyphosate, which is a proven carcinogen. Exposure to glyphosate (and other carcinogens) can cause a variety of cancers. As a result, it is best to minimize exposure to the chemical. The new version of Roundup that is glyphosate free should be safe to use unless any ingredients are other known carcinogens.
Why is Roundup Banned?
While several studies have shown a link between glyphosate and cancer in those exposed to it, the EPA has yet to ban Roundup and similar products that contain the carcinogenic chemical.
Who Qualifies for the Roundup Lawsuit?
If you or a loved one have been exposed to Roundup for an extended period and have later been diagnosed with a cancer of any kind, you may be eligible for a lawsuit. In particular, Roundup is associated with Lymphoma-type cancers, including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, B-cell lymphoma, T-cell lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or hairy cell leukemia, although there are around 70 different cancers currently associated with the weedkiller.
What Can You Recover for a Roundup Lawsuit?
A successful action would seek to recover the cost of medical bills associated with the cancer, lost earnings during treatment and compensation of the pain and suffering endured as a result of cancer attributed to exposure to Roundup. In addition, they may recover lost earnings from being unable to work, emotional damages, pain and suffering, and other financial costs that have been incurred.
For those filing on behalf of deceased loved ones, costs of funeral proceedings and additional damages may also be recovered.
